Finally the team that was Catch Gamer has been layed to rest after a string of poor performances and internal disagreements has lead to the death of one of the Juggernauts of the European Counter-Strike scene.

After all of this the Catch Gamer organisation decided it was time for a change and on Friday the first move was made by them when they released Preben "oops" Josdal. This was then followed by the departure of the other two youngsters of the team, Geir "juve9le" Svendsen & Sondre "REAL" Svanevik. To top this all off and make it a clean sweep both veterans of Norwegian and International Counter-Strike, Jonas "bsl" Vikan & Lars "Naikon" Olaisen decided it was time to end their illustrious CS careers.

Vikan had this to say on the matter:

Long-term the reason for the break up is the, except an average WEG Masters, piss-poor results we have endured in 2006. Compared to 2005 we have a much stronger line-up player for player - still the team could not perform to our own standards and goals which stated that we were aiming for top4 finish at every event. Something had to be done and after evaluating the catastrophic effort in Dallas where we place 17th through 24th there was a consensus on not renewing Preben "oops" Josdals contract.

Well, things didn’t really work out how we thought, after 7 months in Catch-Gamer, we didn’t achieve anything. Things had to be done after ISC, and without me knowing it, oops was removed from the lineup and this is not acceptable. Combined with this, I felt we didn’t really become any better, so it was in fact an easy choice.
