So I've realised that there's a lot of movies that I haven't seen. Many that some might even consider essential. I haven't even seen the matrix, or... Die hard, or rocky, or the godfather, or any James bond films other than Daniel craig..,

anyway, those are just some examples that I thought of. So list some essential movies that I must watch please. And I'll go watch them.

Tenks.

#66 tru that jimmy boy however imo two asian siblings let it down in terms of performance. eastwood fucking killed it though. awesome movie.

BTW watched Cube against for the first time in YEARS yesterday, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0123755/ , lol it was fucking gory for back then. Love it! Also got 2 and 3 although i think they went a bit turder, will watch 2 tonight.

#45 I have to agree Gonzo if you think the Hurt Locker was shit you mustn't of understood it. Greatest war film ever.

Hurt Locker > Saving Private Ryan

Some newer, albeit a bit left-field suggestions:
Ip Man
Ip Man 2 (Best kung-fu movies EVER)
Zombieland
Sin City
Rec
Rec 2
Ninja Assassin (too flashy not to mention)
Law Abiding Citizen
Unthinkable
Kick-Ass
Trickr Treat
I Love You Man
The Hangover
Outlander
The Collector

Actually also got Law Abiding Citizen and i've heard it's pretty G so going to watch that tonight.

I thought Zombieland was pretty good, nothing amazing but fun to watch.

Sin City best adoption of a comic yet imo, really good if anyone here hasn't seen it I'd be very surprised.

I thought "I Love You, Man" was crap. Slow, predictable, just your typical American. Just my opinion though...

Definitely going to have to get Hurt Locker.

Talking about left-field, got linked to this the other day. Bit of an art house flick, not sure if it's going to get a big release... looks nuts though!

Ooh forgot to mention "the descent" its not in my top 20, but for what it is - a b rated low budget horror - it does very, very well. Worth a look. The uk version that is, not the USA one :/

Edit: also 'sunshine' is damn good

The Descent is OK... Pretty predictable.

I liked Rec and Rec 2 better. Overall better horror movies IMHO.

The Hurt Locker was good definitely a high 7/10 however, there is no way in hell it should of beaten avatar lul.

I watched Old boy because I had seen all the other movies you listed elesnack and agreed except yeah rocknrolla wasn’t up with the rest. Fuck that was some weird shit haha

I watched Inception yesterday easily one of the best movies I've ever seen.

Old Boy is a twisted movie but great. Only the Japanese could come up with something that whack.

Oh I rate them both equally Enigma haha... I wasn't saying Ip Man 2 is better just happened to put the comment there after Ip Man 2. They're both awesome.

Rec is the proper and original Spanish version of the American 'Quarantine'. Rec 2 is the sequel, not as good but still entertaining.

"No way in hell it shouldve beaten Avatar"

Apart from 3D effects what did Avatar boast to even be considered an Oscar contender..

Script? Acting? Directing? :|

i must admit hurt locker is way better then avatar. the only reason why people think it's because of the #D effect it had and how it changed movies to consider #D shooting
