ECN 2010 National Final Wrap Up
The final word with GoMeZ and Jim

Foreword

The 2010 Elysium Community Nationals are now over and it's time to thank a lot of people and look back on some of the moments. I originally decided to do this nationals because I was getting tired of Queensland teams dying due to limited opportunity to prove themselves at a national level. Queensland had a very strong 2003-2008 period with Fzer0, nK and Pure, with most of those players filling in all the national spots having now have moved on from the game. Queensland went through a rebuilding phase from 08 to 10. This national was my attempt to rectify this.

Firstly I'd like to thank Jim 'unpro'. Jim has been a long time friend and when I said "I wanted to run a nationals", I knew he would be with more all the way. In areas I lacked experience, Jim was there to fill in all the gaps and he is the main reason the event went so smoothly.

The second person I would like to thank is George 'Beedee'. George is actually the reason CS is still alive and kicking. He didn't participate in a team, however he still flew up and made sure the coverage, videos, photos, HLTV's,scorebots and everything else went so smoothly.

I'd also like to thank all the State and Regional Qualifier Organisers. People like, striz, pacman, peki, fishballz, bgz and everyone else who helped run the qualifiers and ensured that this nationals had a good representation from all states.
Special thanks to Pierre 'Pacman', he came up, filled in for a team to ensure that group had a full 4 matches, and then proceeded to help clean up hours after the event had finished.

To Razer, Eften and Elysium Internet Cafe, the sponsors who believed and stood by the event. Without them we would of been playing for fun, with nothing to win but pride. The venue provided was of the greatest standard ever witnessed by an Australian Counterstrike National. The Prizes were amazing, even better I could have ever imagined.

To all the players, thanks for coming, thanks for playing, and thanks for making job easy. My only regret was running the Queensland qualifier so late (which I know impeded some articles and predictions). The other one is not giving all the players ample warning of the $15 rego cost. We had initially planned to have sponsors cover all the costs, but in the end, the global financial crisis got the better of me.

To everyone that helped and 'lend a hand' at various times over the qualifiers and the final. There is far too many to name, but I'm sure they know who they are.

Thank you,

Chris 'GoMeZ'

Would you prefer a SC2 League or Qualifers then a National?
