What is Gamapalooza?
Gamapalooza is a Melbourne 1.6 LAN event. The very first Gamapalooza was held in 2004 under the loving care of Bennetz and his fellow tournament officials. Through various admins such as cabal, bizarre and cokester, Gamapalooza has since become one of Melbourne's favorite tournaments, with the last event being held in 2007. Gamapalooza #4 will see the continuation of their vision through Hamish, Jim, and I (dave).
Gamapalooza uses a very distinct and unique tournament structure thats specifically designed to attract new players as well as improve the current level of skill within the community, it rewards both amateur and professional teams. The previous Gamapalooza tournaments have all had record high turnouts and have shown a great increase in the skill level of teams throughout the state of Victoria.
Expressions of Interest
In order to deliver the best tournament possible I need to know how many teams are interested in competing.
Please PM me, davestr1zl, VIA ESAU to register your interest (NOTE: this is not a formal registration, just an Expression Of Interest, but i NEED all teams that plan on attending to do this please it is very important!!!).
Please include ALL of the following:
- your team name
- mirc channel if you have 1
- lineup
- whether you rate your team as amatuers or pro's
- whether you think you would be able to attend only some or all legs (dates are obviously tba so just give me a rough idea of whether you can or not)
- lastly, ***IMPORTANT***: whether you would prefer the event to be 3 legs, or 4 (note: each leg will take up both sat/sun of a weekend, and they will most likely be ran fortnightly).
While the actual tournament will not commence until either late September or early October (approx 4-6 weeks) it is very important to know just how many teams we can expect to see enter so that planning can begin.
Keep your eyes open for more information in the following weeks. . |
